A very good copy of the Oscar Wilde play Salome, A Tragedy in One Act. The second edition Published by E.P. Dutton in 1930 featuring a Frontispiece and 15 monochrome illustrations by John Vassos. 4to. 57 pages – Paper boards with titles stamped in gilt with decorative black and gold endpapers. Shelf wear with corners bumped and some sunning to the boards most notable on the front and spine. The interior is clean, and the binding is tight. Overall, a very good copy of Wilde’s play that was banned in Britain and was not performed publicly there until 1931.
